Writers' Royalties
Your split earnings rises automatically depending on your contract type and as your readership grows. Move the numbers below to see where your story lands today.
The Contract
Exclusive doesn't mean unsupported. Every signed author is paired with the editorial and legal backing to actually finish the series they started.
Dedicated line editor
Once you pass 10 chapters, you're matched with an editor who reads every update before it goes live, pacing notes, continuity checks, no gatekeeping on your voice.
You keep your right
Litdom licenses distribution; it never takes ownership of your world, characters, or future adaptations. Film, print, and translation rights stay with you.
Priority review queue
Exclusive-contract chapters clear moderation in under 4 hours on average, so a cliffhanger doesn't sit in a queue overnight.
Advance against royalties
Established and Bestseller tier authors can request an advance on projected earnings when starting a new series, repaid from future chapter unlocks.
The Prize
Beyond the royalty split, recurring contests and bonuses reward the chapters readers can't stop turning.
Cliffhanger Bonus
The 20 chapters with the highest completion-to-next-chapter rate split a bonus pool on top of standard royalties.
New Voice Prize
A cash prize and three months of featured placement for the strongest debut series started in the last 90 days.
Litdom Original Award
One completed series is selected for a print run and adaptation shopping package, chosen by an editorial panel and reader vote.
The Spotlight
Writing the story is your job. Getting it in front of readers who'll love it is ours.
Homepage features
New series rotate through curated homepage shelves in their first two weeks, no algorithm gatekeeping for unproven authors.
Cross-platform pushes
Standout chapters get pulled into Litdom's newsletter and social channels, credited directly to your author page.
Translation program
Eligible series can opt into professional translation for new markets, with royalties on translated editions flowing back to you.
Welcome to Litdom.
Before your story finds its readers, it passes through one careful read. Here's exactly what we look for, and what we need from you, before that happens.
Introduction
Every story submitted to Litdom is read in full before it ever reaches publication. This isn't a formality - it's how we keep the kingdom worth living in for readers and authors alike. A real person reads what you send, start to finish, before any decision is made.
The sections below walk you through what we're looking for, what to prepare technically, and what happens after you hit submit.
Quality Standards
We're not looking for perfect, we're looking for real. That said, a few standards are non-negotiable:
- Original work only. No plagiarism, no unlicensed fan fiction of copyrighted worlds, no AI-generated submissions passed off as your own.
- A compelling opening. Your first chapter should give readers a reason to click "next", a hook, a question, a voice worth following.
- Clear grammar and readability. Rough drafts are fine; unreadable ones aren't. Run a spell-check before you send it our way.
- Complete chapters. Each chapter should read as a finished unit, aim for 800-1,200 words, with a clear beginning and a natural stopping point.
- Stories that keep readers engaged. Pacing matters more than genre. We're reading for momentum, not perfection.
Technical Requirements
A few practical limits so everything uploads and reviews smoothly:
Review Process
Here's what happens once your submission lands in our queue:
Your submission is received
You'll get a confirmation that your manuscript and cover have come through successfully.
A full read by our editorial team
We read your opening chapters in full, not a skim, checking against the standards above.
A decision within 7 working days
Approval isn't automatic. Some stories are accepted as-is; others are asked to revise and resubmit before a final decision.
Publication
Once approved, your story is scheduled and your author profile is activated.
We're looking for the story readers won't want to put down.
Take your time, follow the guidelines above, and send us your best opening. If it needs another pass before it's ready, we'll tell you - this is a kingdom built one honest chapter at a time.
Your next chapter is unwritten.
Let's fix that.
Submit your first 5,000 words, most authors hear back within a week.
